Problem
Users of traditional heating appliances often find themselves limited by outdated interfaces and a lack of remote access. Adjusting temperature settings requires physical interaction, diagnostics are unclear, and there is no centralized view of system performance. As homes become more connected, the absence of a user-friendly digital control option becomes a key barrier to a smarter, more responsive heating experience.
Solution
We focused on designing a mobile-first experience that would enable users to interact with their heating systems in a more intuitive and flexible way. Starting with research into daily usage patterns and common frustrations, we developed a solution that turns complex system management into a guided, user-friendly journey. The app interface offers live appliance status, smart scheduling, and contextual feedback. Whether users are home or away, they can adjust settings, receive alerts, and view energy usage insights. We ensured the experience was inclusive, designing for all levels of tech familiarity. We built a design system tailored to IoT integration, ensuring that the interface could adapt to future product expansions and new device types with minimal design overhead.
Impact
Fumis AIR has redefined how users engage with their heating appliances. The ability to control systems remotely and receive real-time performance feedback has led to a notable reduction in energy waste and service issues. The app not only improved user satisfaction but also created new value for Fumis by aligning the brand with the growing demand for smart, connected living. With Fumis AIR, customers now expect more from their home systems—and feel empowered to take control of their comfort.
